Congratulations Letter from Special Olympics International Representative

Dear SO Michigan/Detroit Public School Project Unify Team:

Congratulations on a successful and inspiring totally youth-lead STW Rally at Lessenger K-8 Academy on 3-31-10.  From all I saw and heard by speaking with the students, teachers, administrators and family members in attendance, Project Unify has demonstrably changed that school climate around to one of acceptance, respect and inclusion for all students.

Kam and Beth, please express my thanks again to the staff for committing time to make not only this event, but to the principles of Project Unify a success.  That's often the most challenging aspect of putting into place a movement like this, especially with all that faces Detroit Public Schools on a daily basis.  To get past the daily distractions and present students with meaningful opportunities for enrichment, whether via school field trips, sports, lunch bunch and other educational/fun/social activities, is so important to making this all work.  That was all obvious from support you have gathered from Robert Bobb, right down to the building staff.
