Special Olympics Michigan held it’s annual Area Director Conference on Saturday, April 24. Dozens of area directors from around Michigan attended. The Water Warriors, a civic partner of Special Olympics Michigan, attended the luncheon. The Water Warriors are best known for their annual five day, 350-mile endurance ride down the Lake Huron shoreline from Mackinaw City to Harsens Island. The Water Warriors presented a check to Special Olympics Michigan. The funds help cover program costs for the annual State Poly Hockey Tournament in November. Area Directors from the eastern shore of the state, who help with the annual endurance ride, also accepted checks for their Area programs. In total, the Water Warriors presented checks totaling $62,756.00 to help athletes!
The Water Warriors raise money all year round for athletes. This July the Water Warriors will embark on their 20th annual ride! If you would like to join the Water Warriors, make a donation or get more information click here.
